On December 17, 2024, we received a notification from the European Commission about the transition to the grant agreement preparation stage for the project proposal “Fostering innovation culture for a new generation of GEorgian AI research community” (FORGE-AI: FOsteRing innovation culture for a new generation of GEorgian AI research community).<\/p>\n
The project will start in 2025, most likely in spring, after completing the mandatory procedures.<\/p>\n
FORGE-AI is another project funded by the European Union\u2019s Horizon Europe program, coordinated by the Niko Muskhelishvili Institute of Computational Mathematics of the Georgian Technical University. Currently, the Horizon Europe project “GAIN” in the field of artificial intelligence is underway under the leadership of the institute, which will end in September 2025.<\/p>\n

The project is three years long and its total budget exceeds 2 million euros. Along with Georgian universities, state organizations, and startups, the project will involve the partners from Germany, France, and Armenia, a total of 13 partners.<\/p>\n
The FORGE-AI project aims to significantly improve the innovation potential of the Georgia\u2019s Research and Innovation (R&I) system and provide a sustainable conditions for boosting research careers of young researchers across sectors, especially in the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI), by (1) strengthening innovation-related capacities of leading young AI researchers and research managers (“Talents”); (2) introducing and demonstrating the added value of cross-sectoral mobility & knowledge circulation, and (3) modernizing the national innovation supporting funding mechanisms to incorporate career-boosting principles and activities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
